The Hyundai Azera Gets Upgrades For 2010

The 2010 Hyundai Azera is a four door sedan with good power and fuel economy. Hyundai offers two engine options on the Azera: a 3.3L V6 and a 3.8L V6. The 3.8L V6 is the engine upgrade, and produces two hundred sixty-three horsepower and two hundred fifty-seven pound feet of torque. These figures compare to two hundred thirty-four horsepower and two hundred twenty-six pound feet of torque for the base 3.3L V6. The city fuel economy rating for the 3.8L V6 is seventeen mile per versus eighteen miles per gallon for the 3.3L V6. The highway rating for the 3.8L V6 is twenty-six miles per gallon, which is the same fuel economy rating in highway driving as the 3.3L V6.

The 3.8L engine features a dual overhead cam layout and multi-point fuel injection. The Azera utilizes a front wheel drivetrain, and the only transmission available is a five speed automatic transmission with the “shiftronic” feature. The shiftronic feature allows the driver to switch from the automatic mode and manually shift the transmission gears. The 3.8L V6 motivates the Azera from zero to sixty miles per hour in seven and two-tenths seconds, and reach a maximum speed of ninety-four miles per hour in the quarter mile. The roster of standard features on the Azera is impressive; dual zone automatic air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, a folding rear seat, keyless remote control, and a power glass moon roof are all standard. Standard safety features on the Azera for 2010 include child door locks, an engine immobilizer, and rear curtain airbags.
